In celebration of Black History Month, as a podcaster and having a father who was a radio/tv newsman, Kathy thought it apropos to showcase two women who were pioneers in the radio and tv industry.
On August 1, 1948, Mary Dee Dudley became the first black woman disc jockey on station WHOD in Homestead, Pennsylvania.
Dorothy Brunson was the first black woman to own and operate a radio and television station starting in 1968.
